I have been using this photometer for about a year now. Since my target is ,02 or less [anything over .05 leads to algae blooms] it is always a bit uncertain as to what my actual reading is. However the readings are pretty consistent. You have to be fairly precise in your methodology but that is just common sense. I use it with phosguard which lasts a long long time if dried after each use. I have had two problems- one with a bad[?] batch of reagent which Foster replaced immediately- and one when it became erratic, which Hanna repaired at no charge. So Kudos to both of them.
I would recommend this set up to anyone. It is not perfect but it is unbelievably better than anythng else on the market when dealing with such miniscule amounts of phosphate as must be tracked in a reef tank. Oh, yeah, it solved my terrible algae problem of some 10 years standing. Nothing was sensitive enough and even R/O water still lets through .05 phosphates. I would not hesitate to recommend this product to anyone who is serious about their tank environment.
